Wreath Hanging Instructions
  • Your fresh door wreath should be hung outdoors. Hanging your wreath indoors may lead to a shortened lifespan due to additional heat factors.
  • There are several ways you can hang your wreath, depending on what you have available. You can hang your wreath from a door knocker or nail using the ribbon / string loop on the top of your wreath. You can also use an over-the-door wreath hanger which are commonly available,  or a Command Wreath Hook.
Safety Precautions

Not suitable for human or animal consumption.

Some flowers, foliages and berries are toxic to both pets and people, so please keep them out of reach of children and animals.

Please note that any fruits, seeds or decorations that are provided as part of the Christmas Wreath DIY kits are not for human consumption.

If your door has a porous paint finish, take precautions to protect the paintwork on your door by adding the plastic wreath wrap provided to the back of your wreath. This helps to protect your door from the moisture in the moss.

We recommend removing the wreath from your door during heavy rainfall or high winds.

FAQs

Please read our FAQs page to find out more.

What is the best way to care for my fresh Christmas Wreath?

When you hang your fresh Christmas wreath, you should protect it from any extreme seasonal weather such as heavy snow, rainfall or high winds. To keep your wreath fresh, spray your wreath and the moss base using a water spray bottle every few days, or as often as needed to keep the base damp-to-touch. Be mindful that fruit slices such as apple and orange slices can go slightly soft or soggy if exposed to too much moisture, so be sure to move your wreath to a sheltered location if you are expecting rainfall. You should always keep your Christmas wreath hanging outside where possible as exposure to indoor heating will shorten the life of your wreath.

How do I attach an apple, orange or lemon slice to my Christmas Wreath?

You can attach an apple, lemon or orange slice to your Christmas wreath by wiring them onto the moss base using a stub wire.

Push the stub wire through your fruit slice, (close to the rind of the orange/skin of the apple) until you have an equal length of the wire on each side of the fruit. Then, bring the two ends of the wire together and twist them together to create a ‘double leg mount’. Next, position your fruit slice where you would like it to go on your wreath. Then push the wire ends through your moss base until they come out of the back of your wreath. Then simply fold back the wires and push the ends back into the moss so that the wires are not sticking out.

How do I attach whole limes and oranges to my Christmas Wreath?

You can attach a whole lime or whole orange to your Christmas wreath by wiring them onto a moss base using a stub wire.

Insert the stub wire into one of the splits in the fruit and patiently guide it through the fruit until it pokes out of a split on the other side. Once your wire has been pushed through, bring the two ends of the wire together and twist the two wire legs together. Next, position your orange or lime where you would like it to go on your wreath. Then push the wire ends through your moss base until they come out of the back of your wreath. Then simply fold back the wires and push the ends back into the moss so that the wires are not sticking out.

How long will my fresh Christmas wreath last?

Provided your fresh Christmas wreath is cared for in line with our wreath care instruction, it will continue to look its best for around 3 weeks. With proper maintenance and care it can last for the whole of December and into the New Year.

To extend your wreath's life for as long as possible, it should be kept outdoors in cool temperatures. Your wreath should be misted with water every few days to keep the moss base damp to touch. Keep your wreath out of heavy rainfall and high winds.

How can I hang my wreath on my front door without damaging it?

All of our luxury wreaths and DIY wreath kits come with a brown string loop to attach the wreath to your front door.

If you have a door hook or knocker, you can simply secure your wreath to the hook or knocker using the brown string provided. If you don't have a door hook or knocker, you can use an over-the-door wreath hanger or an adhesive 3M Command Hook. Avoid adding additional nails or screws in your front door as this will damage the paint work.

I want my wreath to last until Christmas day, when should I order it?

To make sure your wreath is still looking it's best on 25th December, whilst still getting the most enjoyment out of it throughout December, we would recommend choosing a delivery slot on the 11th or 13th of December.

Do I need any additional tools or materials to create my DIY Christmas wreath at home?

To make your Christmas wreath at home using one of our DIY Christmas Wreath kits, you will just need a pair of scissors or secateurs, all other materials will be provided. You may want to wear a pair of protective gloves when handling festive foliage as some foliage such as pine can be irritating on sensitive skin. I would recommend covering your table or work surface in a protective cloth as the foliage and moss base can be wet. You might also require a dust pan and brush to clear up any fallen pieces of moss and foliage.
